Wood Vibes founder, Steve Johnson, has been building furniture for his family and friends for over 30 years. Wood Vibes opened for business in the Summer of 2017 with the goal of building the finest handcrafted furniture while giving back to the environment.

OUR PROCESS

We source our wood locally from trees that are at the end of their life cycle, brought down by Mother Nature, and would otherwise be discarded. We bring a portable saw mill on site and kiln dry the rough sawn wood in our shop. Next, the dry wood is planed, trued, and readied for production. From concept to final inspection, each Wood Vibes product is made with thoughtful design, sustainable materials, and high-quality craftsmanship.

GIVING BACK

Knowing our forests are disappearing at an alarming rate, we have decided to donate a portion of our proceeds to the planting of trees. By purchasing a Wood Vibes product, you will help plant trees and restore forests around the globe. Contact us to learn more about our mission.

MEET THE MAKER

An entrepreneur at his core, Steve Johnson explored many paths, whether selling eggs door-to-door as a young teenager, renting roller skates in his college years, starting media companies, or currently working as a solar developer. Throughout all of these ventures, he has maintained his passion for woodworking. Starting with his very first Mattel Workshop in 1964, and encouraged by an ongoing tutelage from his father, James Johnson, Steve has turned his lifelong passion into a small family business.
